Basic Facilitation Skills

This course presents basic skills needed to facilitate effective meetings. You’ll explore a facilitation model that can be adapted for different meeting purposes such as problem solving, setting goals, and team building. The class provides a safe setting to practice new skills in front of a group. You will:

  • Learn a framework for approaching meetings as a facilitator
  • Practice opening and closing meetings effectively
  • Lead a process for facilitating constructive conversations
  • Experience dealing with difficult behaviors
  • Increase your level of preparedness and confidence to facilitate groups

How can you make meetings more interesting and effective? In this interactive workshop, you will learn how to plan a meeting, encourage commitment from participants, and move from uncertainty to productivity. You will experience and discuss tools facilitators use to help teams and organizations move toward results that matter, whether the goal is to accomplish a single task or to plan for the long-term. You will:
